Today’s online business progress update takes me back to the original purpose of this blog: documenting my journey from $0 to $10,000 per month online.
After a couple of days of writing more general affiliate marketing content, I want to return to the personal side of the journey.
Not every update contains a breakthrough, and this weekend has been relatively quiet.
Yesterday, I received another small sale worth $17.
It is obviously not a huge amount of money, but I still enjoy seeing these smaller commissions arrive. Every sale is another indication that something inside the system is working.
My email list is still at roughly the same level as in my previous update, so there has not been any noticeable growth there.
Apart from that, most of my attention this weekend has simply been on work.
That is part of building something on the side. Some days I have several hours to work on content, traffic and affiliate marketing. Other days are mainly about keeping things moving.
However, there is one new development that I think is worth talking about.
A New ClickBank Profit Challenge
I have become an Authorized Challenge Partner for a new event called The ClickBank Profit Challenge.
It is a live 3-day online challenge beginning October 6, led by the Super Affiliate John Thornhill and his son Alex Thornhill. It is designed for beginners as well as affiliates who have already tried ClickBank but still feel stuck or unsure about what to focus on.
What interests me is that the challenge is not built around the typical:
Find a product → grab an affiliate link → send traffic → hope for a sale.
Instead, the model focuses on building an email list, capturing leads first, following up and using a structured funnel.
That fits very closely with what I have been learning during my own journey.

Why the List-First Approach Makes Sense
One lesson I keep coming back to is that traffic by itself is not much of an asset.
Imagine sending 100 people directly to an affiliate sales page.
Some may buy.
Most probably will not.
And once they leave, you may never be able to reach them again.
If you capture some of those visitors as email subscribers first, the situation changes.
You can send useful content.
You can follow up.
You can introduce new offers later.
You can build a relationship instead of depending entirely on one click.
That is also why I recently wrote my guide on how to build an email list for affiliate marketing.
The ClickBank Profit Challenge takes this same basic idea and shows how it fits inside a broader funnel.
Their core message is simple:
Refer once. Earn over time.
Of course, that does not mean every referral will generate multiple commissions. There are never guarantees in affiliate marketing.
But I think the underlying model makes considerably more sense than treating every visitor as a one-time opportunity.
You Can Start Before the Live Challenge
Another thing I like is that buyers do not simply purchase access and then wait until October 6.
Participants can access the Challenge Hub, setup instructions, the Affiliate DNA Quiz, pre-challenge content and other preparation material before the live event begins.
That should give people time to get the basic pieces in place before the three live sessions start.
And I think that matters.
There is already an enormous amount of affiliate marketing information available online.
The problem for many people is not finding more information.
It is knowing what to do, in what order, and how the different pieces fit together.

My Online Business Progress Toward $10K/Month
So today’s progress is fairly simple:
Another $17 sale.
My email list remains unchanged.
Most of the weekend has been focused on work.
And I now have a new affiliate campaign to test.
That may not sound dramatic, but this journey was never supposed to be a collection of overnight success stories.
The goal is to keep building:
Content.
Traffic.
An email list.
YouTube.
Affiliate partnerships.
Tracking.
Experience.
Then gradually connect those pieces into something more reliable.
