Today has brought another encouraging update to my affiliate marketing journey.
Approximately $79 in new affiliate commissions, another email subscriber, and something I’m particularly happy about: most of today’s commissions are recurring!
Around $68 is connected to a recurring commission that could continue for up to 12 months, provided the relevant payments and conditions remain in place.
That’s exactly the kind of income opportunity I find exciting.
There’s just one small problem today.
I’ve slept for approximately three hours!
So while my online business has provided some welcome encouragement, I’m personally running on very little energy.
And with seven hours at my regular job still ahead of me, plus preparations for tomorrow’s meeting, this could become a rather interesting day.
Fortunately, coffee exists!
Let’s get into today’s update.
Why Recurring Affiliate Commissions Are So Exciting
Let’s start with the good news.
I’ve received approximately $79 in affiliate commissions today.
That’s an encouraging amount in itself, but the part I’m most excited about is the recurring component.
Around $68 of those commissions relates to an opportunity where payments can potentially continue for 12 months.
Of course, future commissions depend on the underlying payments continuing and the applicable affiliate terms. Nothing is guaranteed.
But that’s what makes recurring affiliate commissions so appealing to me.
With a traditional one-time affiliate sale, you generally receive a commission when someone completes a qualifying purchase.
And that’s perfectly fine.
But when you’re promoting a product or service with recurring commissions, a single qualifying referral can potentially generate additional payments over time.
You aren’t necessarily starting from zero with every new month.
I find that especially interesting because I’m trying to build a business that could eventually provide more predictable income.
Imagine gradually building a portfolio of legitimate recurring commissions.
Some may last only a short time.
Others could continue considerably longer.
Over time, that could become a useful part of a diversified affiliate business.
Naturally, it takes consistent effort to acquire customers, and recurring commissions can stop if subscriptions end or the program changes.
But I really like the business model.
Today’s earnings have reinforced that feeling.
ClickBank Profit Club – The System Behind My Progress
One thing I want to emphasize is that my affiliate earnings so far have come from opportunities I’ve accessed through ClickBank Profit Club.
It’s a program created by John Thornhill that has played an important role in my journey.
I’ve learned about promoting digital products, affiliate commissions, email marketing and developing an online business.
And I’ve now reached the point where I’m seeing genuine commissions from those activities.
I’m not claiming to be an expert.
I’m still learning plenty of things myself.
But I’m pleased that my efforts are producing measurable results.
And here’s something worth knowing if you’re curious about the program:
ClickBank Profit Club is completely free to join at the basic membership level.
You can explore the program before deciding whether it’s something you’d like to pursue further.
There are optional paid upgrades that provide access to higher commission opportunities and additional benefits, depending on the membership.
But there’s no obligation to upgrade just because you’ve joined.
If you’ve been thinking about exploring affiliate marketing, you can take a look for yourself.

As always, my earnings represent my own experience rather than a promise of what someone else will earn.
Another New Subscriber – Building My Email List
There’s more good news today.
I’ve welcomed another new subscriber to my email list!
That might seem like a small development compared with the commissions, but I consider it another positive step.
I’m becoming increasingly convinced that building an engaged email list is essential for my long-term online business plans.
Social media platforms are useful for reaching new people.
Search engines can help readers discover content.
But an email list provides an opportunity to communicate directly with people who have chosen to hear from you.
And I like that.
I’m continuing to improve the email sequences I’ve developed in AWeber.
I want subscribers to receive useful information, personal updates and relevant offers rather than a constant stream of sales messages.
After all, there’s a real person behind every email address.
I’d rather build trust gradually than concentrate entirely on short-term sales.
One new subscriber might not sound particularly exciting.
But I’ll happily take another genuinely interested reader any day.
Three Hours of Sleep – Not Exactly My Best Start!
Now, let’s talk about something that hasn’t gone quite as well.
Last night’s sleep.
Or rather, the lack of it!
When I went to bed, I actually felt surprisingly energetic.
Not exactly what you want when you’re hoping to fall asleep quickly.
It took quite a while before I finally managed to drift off.
And then, at approximately 2 a.m., I woke up.
Wide awake.
I tried to get back to sleep, but it simply wasn’t happening.
So, all things considered, I probably managed about three hours of sleep.
Not ideal!
Especially when you have a busy day ahead.
I normally appreciate having plenty of energy for my work, training and online business activities.
Today, however, I suspect I’ll have to lower my expectations a little.
Some days, you’re full of energy and ready to tackle everything.
Other days, you’re simply doing your best to get through the schedule.
Today definitely feels like the second category.
And yes, I’m particularly grateful that coffee exists!
Although I know coffee isn’t a substitute for proper sleep, a cup or two certainly feels appealing this morning.
Hopefully, tonight will be considerably better.
Seven Hours at My Regular Job and Tomorrow’s Meeting
As if the lack of sleep wasn’t enough, I also have approximately seven hours scheduled at my regular job today.
That’s going to require some concentration.
And I still have quite a few things to prepare for tomorrow’s meeting.
The meeting will take up much of Thursday, so I want to make sure I’ve dealt with the necessary preparations beforehand.
It means I won’t have unlimited time for my online business today.
But that’s fine.
I’ve written previously about building online income while working full time and the challenges of balancing different responsibilities.
This is another good example.
Building an online business doesn’t mean that everything else in life suddenly disappears.
There are still regular jobs.
Meetings.
Responsibilities.
And occasional nights when sleep seems almost impossible!
The important thing, in my opinion, is finding a sustainable way to keep moving forward.
Not necessarily doing everything perfectly every single day.
Building Something Beyond Individual Commissions
While I’m delighted with today’s affiliate earnings, I’m also continuing to think about my longer-term business plans.
I want to develop an online business with several potential income streams rather than relying on one product or one particular promotion.
Recurring affiliate commissions could certainly become an important part of that.
But I’m also interested in eventually creating digital products of my own.
That’s one of the reasons I’ve been exploring Coaching Profit System alongside ClickBank Profit Club.
It’s another program I’ve invested in as part of learning more about product creation and online marketing.
I’ve mentioned before that I’d love to launch my first digital product before the end of 2026.
Whether I achieve that ambitious deadline remains to be seen.
But the goal is still there.
And I believe learning to promote other people’s products can provide valuable experience before attempting to create and sell something yourself.

For now, though, today’s recurring commission news is enough to keep me motivated.
My Blogging and Social Media Routine Continues
Despite the busy schedule, I still intend to maintain my normal blogging routine.
My target remains four to five blog articles every week.
Some posts focus on practical affiliate marketing topics.
Others document the progress of my own business.
And occasionally, like today, they include a little more about everyday life.
I actually enjoy that combination.
I don’t want this blog to become a collection of articles that could have been written by absolutely anyone.
I want readers to be able to follow my genuine experiences.
The progress.
The challenges.
The occasional frustration.
And the encouraging moments when another commission or subscriber arrives.
I’ll also continue sharing my articles on Substack, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Each platform offers different opportunities to connect with people who might be interested in my journey.
I’m still experimenting with what works best.
Which subjects generate engagement?
Which posts attract readers?
And which platforms bring visitors who are genuinely interested in the content?
These are questions I intend to keep investigating.
I’m also working on making my articles useful to readers arriving through Google.
Google’s guidance on creating helpful, people-first content is something I keep in mind when planning new articles.
I want readers to find useful information and authentic experiences, not just another promotional page.
That matters to me.
Recurring Income Is Appealing, but Consistency Still Matters
Today’s approximately $79 in commissions has given me another reason to be optimistic.
Especially knowing that around $68 could potentially generate further commissions over the coming months.
But I don’t want to become complacent.
Affiliate marketing still requires work.
New customers don’t arrive automatically.
And even recurring commissions aren’t necessarily permanent.
That’s why I intend to continue improving my content, growing my email list and learning new skills.
My long-term goal is to build something sustainable enough to provide greater financial independence.
I’m not there yet.
But each commission, each subscriber and each new lesson brings me another step forward.
And that’s a good feeling.
Final Thoughts: A Good Business Day Despite a Sleepless Night
So, here’s today’s situation.
Approximately $79 in new affiliate commissions.
Around $68 connected to recurring commissions that could continue for up to 12 months.
Another new email subscriber.
Only about three hours of sleep.
Seven hours scheduled at my regular job.
Preparations for tomorrow’s meeting.
And, of course, another blog article to share on Substack, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Quite a combination!
I suspect the coffee will be particularly important today.
But despite feeling tired, I’m pleased with the direction my online business is taking.
Especially when I see opportunities to earn recurring affiliate commissions rather than relying exclusively on one-time sales.
Now, I just need to get through the rest of the day.
And hopefully enjoy a much better night’s sleep tonight!
