My Affiliate Marketing Journey: A New Subscriber and Bigger Plans

My affiliate marketing journey continues with another subscriber, steady earnings and a potentially major new chapter waiting just around the corner.

Although there hasn’t been another sale since my last update, there was a nice little surprise waiting for me.

I picked up another free subscriber through my Facebook traffic.

That brings my email list to 24 subscribers.

It’s only one person.

But one person is still progress.

Especially because I’ve recently been looking more closely at where my blog traffic actually comes from, and Facebook has clearly been the strongest identifiable external source.

So seeing a subscriber come directly from that traffic is encouraging.

My total affiliate earnings remain at just over $1,000, following the $170+ commission I shared recently.

One subscriber can still tell you something

A new subscriber isn’t going to transform the business overnight.

But I think it tells me something useful.

The traffic I’m generating from Facebook isn’t only producing page views.

At least some of those visitors are interested enough to join my list.

That matters.

Because one of the long-term goals isn’t simply to send people directly to affiliate offers.

I want to build an audience I can communicate with repeatedly.

Someone might discover one blog post today.

Join the list.

Read another article next week.

And perhaps buy something months from now.

That relationship is worth much more than a single page view.

Today’s work is familiar

Apart from that, today won’t be particularly complicated.

The main task is still publishing.

Content across the platforms I’m currently using.

Creating articles for the blog.

Sharing ideas.

Building traffic.

Watching the numbers.

And gradually learning which activities deserve more of my time.

Yesterday I published something slightly different from the usual progress update: a beginner-friendly article explaining how I’m approaching affiliate marketing with ClickBank.

I want to create more evergreen content like that alongside these journey updates.

The journey posts document what is actually happening.

The evergreen articles can potentially attract search traffic for much longer.

I think the combination could become very useful over time.

Waiting for something much bigger

There is also something far more significant happening in the background.

I’m currently waiting for the proposed agreement from John Thornhill regarding the mentorship we’ve been discussing.

Nothing is final until we’ve reviewed the agreement and both sides are happy with everything.

But if we do move forward, I genuinely believe this could take my business to an entirely different level.

I’ve already had a coaching call with John, and that conversation made me think much bigger about what this business could eventually become.

Not simply:

“Can I make some affiliate commissions?”

But:

“Can I build a serious online business?”

That means thinking beyond individual sales.

Products.

Funnels.

Traffic systems.

Email lists.

Partnerships.

Affiliate relationships.

And assets that I actually own.

That’s the level I ultimately want to reach.

From affiliate commissions to a real business

There’s nothing wrong with making affiliate sales.

Obviously I want a lot more of them.

But the longer I work on this, the more I realise that the real opportunity is in building infrastructure around those sales.

A website that attracts visitors.

An audience that keeps growing.

An email list.

Evergreen content.

Products.

Systems.

Relationships.

Those things can compound.

And that’s why the potential mentorship with John feels so important.

If everything comes together, I’ll obviously share much more about exactly what it involves and how the process develops.

For now, I’m waiting to see the agreement.

Some days bring opportunities that might not show up in the numbers until much later.

Today has a little bit of all three stories.
