My affiliate marketing journey from $0 to $10K per month continues.
Not every day in an online business comes with a big announcement.
Sometimes there’s a new sale, sometimes the email list grows, and sometimes you simply keep working.
That’s pretty much where I am today.
The day before, I shared a much bigger update about a coaching call that could potentially change the direction of this entire journey. You can read that John Thornhill affiliate marketing update here.
My journey from $0 to $10,000 per month online continues, but there hasn’t been much movement in the numbers since my last update.
My email list is still sitting at 23 subscribers, and my total earnings remain at just under $900.
No dramatic commission screenshot today.
No sudden explosion in traffic.
Just another day of building.
And if you’re thinking about starting your own affiliate marketing journey, the ClickBank Profit Challenge is still the main opportunity I’m focusing on:

The quiet days are part of the journey
I think it’s important to share days like this.
It would be very easy to only publish an update when something exciting happens.
A new sale.
A jump in subscribers.
A successful campaign.
A major new opportunity.
But that wouldn’t really document the journey from zero.
Building an online business involves plenty of days where the scoreboard barely moves.
The work still happens.
You just don’t immediately see the result.
And today is one of those days.
Today’s work: keep publishing
My main task today is simple:
Keep putting content in front of people.
That means continuing to publish across:
- Substack
- X
None of those individual posts is likely to transform the business overnight.
But collectively, they matter.
Every post creates another opportunity for someone to discover me.
Every visitor is a potential subscriber.
Every subscriber is someone I can build a relationship with.
And eventually, some of those people may become customers.
That’s the system I’m trying to build.
Content brings attention.
Attention creates traffic.
Traffic creates opportunities.
And opportunities can eventually turn into sales.
Simple in theory.
Much harder in practice.
Consistency matters more than excitement
One thing I’m learning is that you can’t judge your progress based on what happens during one day.
Affiliate marketing isn’t:
Post something → make money.
It’s more like:
Publish.
Test.
Learn.
Adjust.
Publish again.
Do that enough times and hopefully the numbers start moving in the right direction.
That’s why these quiet days matter.
They’re the days when you’re building the foundation for results that may not arrive until weeks or months later.
Building something bigger
I’ve also been thinking more about what the next level of this journey could look like.
The original goal remains the same:
Build from $0 to $10,000 per month.
But getting there is going to require more than simply posting affiliate links.
It means building assets.
An audience.
An email list.
Products.
Traffic systems.
Relationships.
And eventually a real online business rather than just a collection of promotions.
For anyone who wants to go beyond the basics and explore a more serious coaching-based business model, there’s another system I’m currently involved with:

I’ll continue sharing what I learn from the different systems, strategies and opportunities I’m testing as the journey develops.
Tonight, something completely different
And online business isn’t everything.
Tonight, I’m heading out to watch a football match.
This weekend will probably be a mixture of work and enjoyment.
And I actually think that’s important.
One of the reasons I want to build an online income in the first place is freedom.
Not necessarily the cliché version of sitting on a beach with a laptop.
Just having more control over my time.
Being able to work when I want to work.
Take time off when I want to.
And build something that isn’t completely dependent on exchanging hours for money.
Of course, I’m nowhere near that point yet.
But that’s the destination.
Today’s scoreboard
So today’s numbers remain:
Email subscribers: 23
Total earnings: Just under $900
Monthly income goal: $10,000
There is still a very long way to go.
But that’s exactly why I started documenting this now rather than waiting until everything looked successful.
If I eventually reach the goal, we’ll have the entire journey here.
The wins.
The mistakes.
The quiet days.
And everything in between.
