My affiliate marketing journey continues after a busy weekend with two more sales, a new subscriber and plenty to work on this week.
The weekend is over, which means it’s time to get back to the blog.
I didn’t publish anything here over the weekend, and that was intentional. My goal is still to update this blog around four or five times a week rather than forcing myself to publish something every single day.
Some days simply won’t have a blog post.
That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped working on the business.
Quite the opposite.
Over the weekend I worked my regular job, published a couple of new articles on Substack and shared them across my usual social media channels.
And while all of that was happening, I picked up two more affiliate sales worth around $30 in total.
I also added another subscriber to my email list.
My previous blog update was about the lessons I was learning while improving my second YouTube affiliate video. If you missed it, you can read that Affiliate Marketing Journey update here.
The individual results from this weekend aren’t huge, but another two sales and another subscriber are still movement in the right direction.
The ClickBank Profit Challenge was behind many of my first affiliate sales, but that campaign has now ended. For the current offer, you can explore ClickBank Profit Club – join for free.
My Affiliate Marketing Journey Continues After the Weekend
This weekend was a good reminder of something I’m slowly getting better at accepting.
I don’t need to publish everywhere every day.
I spent quite a bit of the weekend doing my regular work. At the same time, I still published on Substack and continued my usual social media sharing.
And while all of that was happening, another couple of affiliate sales came in and somebody else joined my email list.
That’s encouraging.
The individual numbers are still small, particularly compared with some of the larger sales I’ve had before. But I’m increasingly interested in seeing whether all these different pieces can start working together consistently.
The blog, Substack, social media, email, affiliate offers, YouTube, traffic and tracking are all different parts of the same business.
I’m still learning how they connect.
Now it’s back to the blog
Today the blog is back in the schedule.
Once this article is published, I’ll share it across my usual social media channels as well.
That routine is becoming fairly established now.
Write something based on what is actually happening, publish it, share it, track what happens and then move on to the next thing.
I’m trying not to make the content schedule more complicated than it needs to be.
Four or five blog posts per week feels realistic for me. It gives me enough consistency without forcing me to manufacture an update when there really isn’t one.
And I think that is important for this affiliate marketing journey.
I want these posts to document what I’m actually doing rather than simply publishing something because the calendar says I should.
I have some YouTube homework to finish
Another priority today is finishing the work I need to have ready by Thursday for my YouTube mentor.
That side of the business is quite different from most of what I do with affiliate marketing.
The YouTube project is focused on physical products sold through Amazon.
I’m learning how to create better videos around those products — scripts, visuals, thumbnails, SEO, short-form versions and the overall process of turning a product into useful video content.
There have definitely been more details to learn than I expected.
But that is also why I have a mentor helping me with it.
My goal is to get the latest assignments finished today rather than waiting until the Thursday deadline.
That would feel good.
Two mentors for two different parts of the business
I’m in a fortunate position at the moment because I’m learning from two mentors who focus on different areas.
My YouTube mentor is helping me with physical-product affiliate marketing and video creation.
Then I have my main mentor, John Thornhill, who is working with me on the wider affiliate marketing business, particularly digital products, product creation, funnels, email marketing and the other pieces that go around it.
So I effectively have two mentors helping me develop two different sides of the business.
Although I enjoy learning the YouTube side, affiliate marketing and digital products are still the areas I find most exciting.
That is where I expect the core of my business to be in the long run.
At the same time, I can see plenty of potential in YouTube and physical products once I become better at creating the videos.
I don’t think I need to choose one and completely ignore the other.
If I can learn both properly, they may eventually complement each other very well.
If you’re interested in the system I’m using as I learn more about funnels, email follow-up and building a more complete online business, you can also take a look at Coaching Profit System here.
Small results still matter
The two new sales from this weekend, worth around $30 in total, are obviously not going to change my life.
Neither is one new subscriber.
But I don’t think that is the right way to look at them.
I’m still building.
Every sale gives me another transaction to understand.
Every subscriber gives me another person entering the system.
Every blog post creates another piece of content that could potentially bring traffic later.
Every YouTube video teaches me something I can use in the next one.
And every mentoring session should hopefully reduce the number of mistakes I make on my own.
The goal is to keep stacking all of those things together.
That is also why I continue documenting my affiliate marketing journey.
I want to be able to look back later and see what actually happened between starting almost from zero and wherever this business eventually ends up.
A good start to the week
There was one more thing I did this morning before getting back to work.
Actually, two things.
I completed two different workouts.
So by the time I sat down to work on the business, I already felt pretty energized.
Now the plan for the rest of the day is straightforward.
Finish this blog post, share it, get the YouTube mentor assignments finished and keep working on the business.
The weekend is over.
Time to get moving again.
