Another day in my affiliate marketing journey, and today started a little differently from most Fridays.
This morning I drove my brother into town because he had a few things to pick up, including some hunting equipment.
After that, it is back to the usual routine.
My regular work is waiting, and I also have the usual social media sharing to take care of.
But the main business update today is really about what happened in yesterday’s mentoring session.
And, once again, my supposedly finished YouTube video is not quite finished yet.
I thought the video was done
Yesterday I went into my mentoring call feeling pretty good about my second YouTube affiliate video.
I had already spent a lot of time improving it.
The script had been rewritten.
The visuals had been changed.
The captions had been improved.
The thumbnail, title, description and keywords had all received more attention.
I genuinely thought we were getting very close to the finish line.
Then my mentor started reviewing it.
And he found quite a few more small things.
Fortunately, that is actually good news.
Most of the feedback was no longer about rebuilding the entire video. It was about smaller details: consistency between scenes, a couple of AI glitches, wording, captions, voice consistency and making the overall presentation feel more natural.
He even described much of it as “nitpicking” at this stage, which is probably a good sign.
Still building on what got me started
A big part of this affiliate marketing journey still goes back to the system that helped me generate my first meaningful affiliate income.
I started with the ClickBank Profit Challenge, which has now ended. For the current offer, you can explore ClickBank Profit Club – join for free.
It gave me something important very early on: proof that affiliate marketing could actually generate real sales.
Now I am trying to build on that foundation by improving the quality of my content, learning YouTube and creating more traffic sources instead of relying on just one method.
The more he finds, the more I learn
Of course, there is always a moment where you think:
“I really thought this was finished.”
But I would much rather have someone point out these things now than publish video after video without improving.
Every correction teaches me something.
Every AI glitch I miss makes me more likely to notice the next one.
Every awkward sentence makes me think more carefully about the script before I generate the voiceover.
Every inconsistent scene teaches me to pay more attention to the visual story.
That is really the value of having someone experienced review the work.
The goal is not just to improve this one video.
The goal is for video three, four and five to become easier and better because of what I am learning now.
Another round of improvements
There are a few things I now want to clean up before the video goes live.
One of them is consistency.
The video is supposed to show how practical strength training can be in a normal home.
But a few scenes started drifting toward something that looked more like a dedicated gym.
My mentor suggested keeping the same type of home environment throughout and, where possible, using the same person or a very small number of people across the video.
He also suggested matching the voice more closely with the main character.
Most of the main characters in the video are men, while the current AI voice is female.
Again, it is a small detail.
But when enough small details are slightly inconsistent, the whole thing can start feeling more obviously AI-generated.
That is exactly what I am trying to avoid.
New publication plan: next week
So the new plan is to make these final changes and publish the video next week.
This will be my second YouTube video focused on a physical product in the health and fitness space.
My first one was about a walking pad.
This one focuses on adjustable dumbbells and home strength training.

Affiliate Marketing Journey: Video Two Is Almost Ready
I am taking longer than I expected with these early videos, but I am beginning to see why.
There are simply a lot of moving parts when you are learning everything at the same time.
And hopefully, once the basic process becomes more familiar, production will become much faster.
One video can become much more content
Another interesting part of yesterday’s session was what comes after the main video.
Until now, most of my attention has gone into creating one complete YouTube video at a time.
The next step is learning how to repurpose that work.
The idea is to take the main video and turn parts of it into shorter vertical videos for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Pinterest and other social channels.
That means the research, script and visuals I have already spent hours creating can potentially be reused several times instead of disappearing after one upload.
That is something I will be working on next.
Building the next stage as well
Affiliate marketing is still the part of the business that has produced my first real online income.
But I do not want the entire business to depend on promoting other people’s products forever.
That is where the Coaching Profit System comes into the picture for me.
I see that as the next stage: learning how to build my own product and create online assets that I control.
So there are several things developing at once.
Affiliate promotions.
Email list building.
YouTube.
Traffic tracking.
Content creation.
And eventually my own products.
It is a lot to learn, but that is also what makes the journey interesting.
A quieter weekend ahead
I am not sure yet whether I will publish another blog update over the weekend.
I will still be working, and I am also expecting a friend to visit.
Other than that, I do not have any major plans.
So if there is no new post this weekend, the next update will come no later than Monday.
For now, the job is simple.
Finish the regular work.
Get the social media sharing done.
Keep improving the YouTube video.
And try not to convince myself that it is “finished” too early this time.
One step at a time.
