Today’s online business progress update comes with a milestone:
My first YouTube affiliate video is finally live.
My affiliate income is unchanged today, and my email list is still sitting at 21 subscribers.
So there is no new sales or subscriber milestone to report.
But I have made progress somewhere else.
After spending much longer on my first YouTube video than I originally expected, I finally published it.
And there is an interesting twist.
The video is in a completely different niche.
My first YouTube video is live
My first video is about a walking pad in the fitness niche.
You can watch it here:
At first, that might seem like an unusual thing to share on a blog focused on affiliate marketing and building an online income.
But I think it actually fits this journey very well.
The niche is different, but the business model behind the experiment is still affiliate marketing.
The idea is to create useful content around products people are interested in, attract targeted viewers, and potentially earn affiliate commissions when people decide to learn more about those products.
So I am not turning this into a fitness blog.
I am testing another way to make affiliate marketing work.
And because this blog documents my real journey of building an online business, I want to share those experiments too.
Why I am testing another niche
One thing I am learning is that there is no reason to assume one traffic source, one platform, or one type of affiliate product will be the answer.
Right now I am testing several different pieces:
Blogging.
Email list building.
Social media.
ClickBank.
And now YouTube.
With this new YouTube channel, I can start learning what happens when I create content around physical products people are already searching for.
Can the videos attract viewers?
Will people click the thumbnails?
Can I keep them watching?
And eventually, can those views generate affiliate clicks and commissions?
I do not know yet.
That is exactly why I want to test it.
Want to see the affiliate marketing system I am building?
YouTube is only one part of what I am working on.
The main affiliate marketing system I have been building around traffic, list building, email follow-up, and relevant offers is ClickBank Profit Club.
If you would like to see what I am using as part of this journey:

It is free to join, although optional paid upgrades may be offered after joining.
There are no guaranteed results, but it gives you a closer look at the system I am currently using and documenting on this blog.
The first video took longer than expected
Creating the first video taught me just how many different parts are involved.
There is the script, voiceover, visuals, editing, pacing, music, thumbnail, title, description, and affiliate links.
When you are learning the process at the same time, every little step takes longer.
But I have now completed the entire workflow once.
That matters.
I am not expecting my first YouTube video to be perfect.
The goal is to learn enough from video number one to make video number two better.
Then make video number three better again.
Hopefully the process becomes faster and the quality improves with every video.
Video number two needs to be ready tomorrow
There is not much time to celebrate publishing the first video because I already have another deadline.
I need to finish my second video tomorrow.
This time, however, I am not going to publish it immediately.
My mentor is going to review it first and give me feedback.
I will then make the improvements he recommends before publishing the final version.
I think this could be extremely useful.
There are probably things I am doing wrong right now that I simply cannot see myself.
Getting feedback from someone more experienced should help me improve the videos much faster.
The process will be simple:
Create. Get feedback. Improve. Publish. Repeat.
That feels like a much better strategy than trying to make everything perfect on my own.
No movement in the numbers today
From a numbers perspective, today is quiet.
My affiliate income remains unchanged.
My email list remains at 21 subscribers.
But that is also part of building an online business.
Not every day comes with a new sale, subscriber, or exciting screenshot.
Sometimes the progress is simply finishing something that moves the business forward.
Yesterday, my first YouTube video was still something I was trying to complete.
Today it is published.
That means it can now generate views, clicks, data, and potentially affiliate commissions.
Even if the initial numbers are tiny, I finally have something real to measure and improve.
What about the ClickBank Profit Challenge?
Yesterday I also mentioned that I expected to have more information about the newly announced ClickBank Profit Challenge today.
I have not had enough time to properly investigate it yet.
Rather than quickly looking through it and writing about something I do not fully understand, I would rather wait until I have had time to examine it properly.
So I will come back to that in a future update.
There is already enough hype in the online business world.
I would rather tell you what I genuinely think after I have taken a proper look.
Keep building the pieces
This journey keeps reinforcing the same lesson.
A single sale is great.
A new subscriber is great.
But the bigger goal is to build assets that can continue working.
A blog post can keep attracting visitors.
A YouTube video can keep generating views.
An email list lets you continue communicating with people who have chosen to hear from you.
And eventually, all those pieces can start working together.

What comes next
So that is where things stand today.
My income is unchanged.
My email list is still at 21 subscribers.
But my first YouTube affiliate video is officially live.
Now the focus immediately shifts to video number two.
I need to finish it tomorrow, get my mentor’s feedback, improve it, and only then publish it.
That should give me another useful lesson to share here.
For now, though, I am happy to have crossed one important milestone:
Video number one is finally out in the world.
