Online business progress update showing mentor feedback on my second YouTube affiliate video

Online Business Progress: Mentor Feedback on My Second YouTube Video

Today’s online business progress update is mainly about learning.

I had another coaching session with my mentor today as I continue learning how to create YouTube videos around products with Amazon affiliate links.

Before the meeting, I had one important job:

Finish my second video.

I managed to get it done, but I was working under time pressure.

And if I am being completely truthful, I was not happy with the result.

Fortunately, that is exactly what coaching sessions are for.

My second YouTube video is finished — but not published

I completed the second video in time for my mentor to review it today.

Personally, I thought there were several things that could be much better.

My mentor was more positive.

He was polite about it and said the video was actually quite good, especially considering I am still learning the process.

But that certainly did not mean there was nothing to improve.

He pointed out several areas where I can make the video stronger before it goes anywhere near YouTube.

And that is exactly what I wanted from the session.

The video is not published yet.

My goal now is to apply his recommendations before our next meeting. Hopefully, once he has seen the improved version, I will be able to publish it shortly afterward.

Learning CapCut and Canva properly

A useful part of today’s session was spending more time on the actual tools involved in creating the videos.

My mentor explained in more detail how CapCut and Canva can be used and showed me things I was not using properly yet.

That may sound basic, but it matters.

There is a big difference between knowing that a tool exists and understanding how to use it efficiently.

When you are new to video creation, small things can take far too long simply because you do not know the quickest way to do them.

Every time I learn a better workflow, future videos should become easier and faster to produce.

That is one of the biggest benefits I am hoping to get from these coaching sessions.

Want to see the affiliate marketing system I am building?

While I experiment with YouTube and Amazon affiliate products, I am continuing to build the other side of my affiliate marketing business as well.

ClickBank Profit Club is still the main system I am using around traffic, list building, email follow-up, and affiliate offers.

If you want to see how it works:

It is free to join, although optional paid upgrades may be offered after joining.

One new subscriber today

There was also one small piece of progress on the numbers side.

My email list gained one new subscriber, bringing the total to 22 subscribers.

My affiliate earnings, however, remain unchanged.

No new commission today.

That is okay.

As I have mentioned many times in these updates, I do not expect something exciting to happen every day.

Right now, a lot of the work is about building.

More content.

More videos.

More subscribers.

Better systems.

And hopefully better skills.

The financial results will either follow or they will not, but the only way to find out is to keep putting the pieces in place.

The next version needs to be better

The most important thing now is not simply finishing another video.

It is taking the feedback I received today and actually using it.

Before the next coaching session, I need to go back through the video and improve the areas my mentor highlighted.

That is the process I talked about yesterday:

Create.

Get feedback.

Improve.

Publish.

The first version does not need to be perfect.

It needs to give us something concrete to evaluate.

Then I can improve it.

That feels like a much more productive approach than endlessly trying to perfect a video before letting anyone else see it.

The rest of today is business as usual

There is not a huge amount more to report today.

I will continue publishing content across my social media channels and keep working through the tasks in front of me.

Some days in this journey come with sales or noticeable jumps in numbers.

Today was more about learning how to do something better.

And that is still valuable progress.

The goal is simply to keep showing up, keep improving, and do the best job I can with the information I have at the time.

Then repeat the process tomorrow.

Keep building your affiliate marketing system

If you are following my journey because you are interested in building your own affiliate marketing business, you can see the system I am currently using here:

Want to take things to the next level?

If you are looking for something more structured and want to explore additional coaching, digital product creation, AI, and online-business systems, you can also take a look at Coaching Profit System.

It will not be the right fit for everyone, but it may be worth exploring if you want more guidance and structure than a beginner-focused system alone.

On to the improvements

So today’s numbers are simple.

Email subscribers: 22.

Affiliate earnings: unchanged.

Second YouTube video: completed, reviewed, but not published.

The next job is clear.

Take today’s feedback, improve the video, learn more about the tools, and have a stronger version ready for my next coaching session.

Then, hopefully, video number two can finally go live.
