Another day in my affiliate marketing journey started in a really nice way. I woke up feeling rested, which always makes a noticeable difference to how the rest of the day feels.
I started with a short morning walk and then did a small strength-training session before getting ready for something completely different from my normal online business routine.
Here in Sweden, we recently had our election, and today I was involved in counting votes.
So instead of spending the whole morning in front of the computer working on my usual job and affiliate marketing, content, tracking, YouTube, and traffic, part of the day was dedicated to something entirely different.
It made for a slightly unusual Wednesday.
Everything went as it should, and I have to admit that it will be nice when the whole election process is finally completed.
It has been an interesting experience to be involved, but at the same time I am looking forward to getting back into a more normal routine again.
Now that I am back home, that is exactly what I am doing.
Back to the Online Business
The main priority for the rest of today is the same one I had yesterday:
Finish my latest YouTube video.
I have a deadline tomorrow, so that is the task that needs to be completed first.
The video is part of a separate fitness affiliate project that I am working on, where I promote physical products rather than the digital products I normally focus on.
It is still affiliate marketing, but it feels quite different.
With digital products, the process is often more focused on sales pages, funnels, email marketing, bonuses, and traffic.
With physical products, especially on YouTube, there is much more emphasis on the actual presentation.
The script matters.
The visuals matter.
The voiceover matters.
The thumbnail matters.
The title and description matter.
And even small details in the video can make a difference.
At the moment, creating these videos still takes me longer than I would like.
There are AI-generated visuals to check, voiceovers to adjust, descriptions to improve, affiliate links to add, and sometimes small errors that need to be corrected before the video is ready.
It can feel slow.
But I also know that this is part of the learning process.
The first few times you do something, everything takes longer because you have to think about every step.
Eventually, the process becomes familiar.
You start knowing what to look for.
You make fewer mistakes.
You build templates.
You reuse workflows.
And hopefully, what once took several hours eventually takes much less time.
That is what I am aiming for.
If you’re following my affiliate marketing journey because you’re trying to build an online income of your own, the system that helped me make my first real affiliate sales is the ClickBank Profit Club. You can take a look and see how it works for yourself.
The Tracking Is Starting to Show Something
Another thing I checked today was the tracking setup I wrote about in yesterday’s affiliate marketing journey update.
And I can already see something interesting.
A little bit of traffic is starting to appear from sources that previously showed almost nothing.
I want to be very careful not to exaggerate this.
We are talking about very small numbers.
Very small.
But that is still useful.
Before improving the tracking, some traffic sources looked as if they were producing absolutely nothing.
That made it difficult to know whether publishing on those platforms was worth the effort.
Was nobody clicking?
Were people clicking but not being tracked correctly?
Was the traffic ending up under another source?
Without better tracking, it was hard to know.
Now I am beginning to see at least a few small signals.
A visitor here.
A click there.
A traffic source that previously showed zero is suddenly showing some activity.
That may not sound exciting, but for me, it is actually very encouraging.
Because one of the biggest problems when building an online business is not always a lack of activity.
Sometimes it is a lack of information.
You can be publishing content every day and still have very little idea what is actually working.
That makes it difficult to improve.
Better tracking changes that.
From Guessing to Measuring
This is one of the things I want to get much better at.
Instead of simply creating more content and hoping something works, I want to understand the entire path.
Where did the visitor come from?
Which piece of content did they click?
Which blog post did they read?
Did they click an affiliate link?
Did they subscribe?
Did they eventually make a purchase?
Those are the questions that matter.
And the better I can answer them, the easier it becomes to decide where to spend my time.
If one traffic source consistently generates visitors who click through to offers, I want to know that.
If another platform takes a lot of time but produces almost nothing, I want to know that too.
The point is not to stop experimenting.
The point is to make the experiments measurable.
That is what the tracking improvements are beginning to help with.
Building Beyond Affiliate Commissions
Another part of my longer-term plan is not just to promote other people’s products forever.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to learn traffic, conversions, email marketing, and how offers work.
But eventually, I also want to build assets of my own.
That is where the Coaching Profit System fits into my journey.
I see it as the next step after learning the fundamentals through affiliate marketing: creating my own product or offer, building something I control, and eventually having more opportunities to scale.
That does not mean abandoning affiliate marketing.
Far from it.
Right now, affiliate marketing is still the foundation of what I am building.
But I also like the idea that the work I am doing today — creating content, learning traffic, tracking results, improving funnels, and understanding what people respond to — can eventually help me build something of my own.
For me, those two paths fit together naturally.
Small Steps Are Still Progress
One thing that keeps coming back throughout this journey is how many small improvements are involved.
There is rarely one huge breakthrough.
Instead, it seems to be a long series of small steps.
One new subscriber.
One affiliate sale.
One better blog post.
One improved title.
One more useful YouTube video.
One tracking problem fixed.
One traffic source that finally starts appearing in the analytics.
One process that becomes a little faster than it was last week.
Individually, none of those things looks dramatic.
But that does not mean they are unimportant.
If enough small improvements start working together, the overall result can eventually become much bigger.
That is why I am trying to pay more attention to progress rather than constantly expecting some huge result overnight.
Yesterday, for example, I had another affiliate sale of a little over $22.
Again, not a life-changing amount.
But it was another sale.
Another sign that the system is producing something.
And now, at the same time, I am improving the tracking so I can hopefully understand more about where those results are coming from.
That makes the small wins much more useful.
A Different Kind of Day
Today has been a mixture of two completely different worlds.
Part of the day was spent helping with vote counting after the Swedish election.
The other part is going straight back into the online business I am trying to build.
Finish the YouTube video.
Publish across my usual social media channels.
Check the tracking.
Look at the numbers.
Keep creating.
Keep learning.
Keep improving.
It is an unusual day mixed with a very normal one.
And in a strange way, I quite like that.
Building an online business has to fit around real life.
Some days you get several uninterrupted hours to work.
Other days, life takes priority and you fit the business around everything else.
The important thing is to keep moving.
Even if the progress is small.
