John Thornhill mentoring call and 8-week product launch goal for my online business journey

My First Mentoring Call With John Thornhill – And an 8-Week Product Goal

My John Thornhill mentoring call yesterday gave me plenty to think about as I started another cold morning here in Sweden.

Winter definitely feels like it is starting to creep closer.

A cold morning walk is still a pretty good way to start the day, though.

And after yesterday, I had quite a lot to think about.

My First Call With John After Signing the Agreement

Yesterday, I had my first mentoring call with John Thornhill since signing our 12-month mentorship agreement.

We had spoken before the agreement was signed as well, but this was the first conversation where we could really start focusing on what comes next.

And I came away from the call feeling extremely inspired.

John strikes me as a very down-to-earth, humble and genuinely likeable person.

More importantly, I believe his experience and guidance can help me make much better decisions as I continue building my online business.

If you missed my previous update, I wrote about signing the 12-month mentorship agreement here:

Keep Publishing – But Let the Data Decide

One of the things John and I discussed was traffic.

For the time being, I’m going to continue publishing across the different platforms I’m already using.

The idea is to gather more data and see which traffic sources are actually bringing visitors to my blog.

That distinction matters.

It’s easy to feel productive because you’re posting everywhere.

But if a platform keeps taking time while generating almost no traffic, eventually you have to ask whether that time could be better spent somewhere else.

So over the coming weeks, I’ll continue testing.

If some traffic sources continue producing very little or no meaningful traffic, I’ll likely reduce the amount of time I spend on them — or potentially remove them from the strategy altogether.

That should allow me to spend more time on the channels that are actually producing results.

And speaking of systems that have already produced results for me, ClickBank Profit Challenge is the system where I earned my first money in affiliate marketing.

I Need Better Tracking

Another thing I need to improve is link tracking.

At the moment, I can see where a lot of my traffic comes from, but I want to get much better at identifying exactly which links and posts are generating clicks.

For example:

Was that visitor from Facebook?

Substack?

Pinterest?

A particular post?

A particular CTA?

The better the tracking becomes, the easier it becomes to make decisions based on actual numbers instead of assumptions.

That’s something I’ll be working on much more going forward.

The Big Goal: Launch a Product Within 8 Weeks

Probably the most exciting part of yesterday’s conversation was product development.

We discussed how to move from ideas and planning into actually developing and launching a product.

And now there’s a concrete target:

The goal is to have a product developed and launched within approximately 6–8 weeks.

I’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the process while learning from John and his team along the way.

And yes — I’m extremely excited about it.

For me, one of the most valuable parts will be getting a closer look at the process of taking a digital product from development to launch.

That experience could become incredibly valuable as I continue building my online business.

For anyone who eventually wants to move beyond affiliate marketing and start building their own product or business asset, that’s also where the Coaching Profit System becomes especially relevant. You can check it out here.

Another Subscriber

There was also a small bit of progress in the numbers.

I gained another email subscriber.

That means my email list now stands at:

25 subscribers

My total earnings remain unchanged at:

Just over $1,000

Again, nothing dramatic.

But another person choosing to join the list is still another small step forward.

And those small steps matter.

Today’s Work

Today is back to execution.

I have my usual social media publishing to take care of.

I also need to continue developing the YouTube video for my second niche.

That project is different from this one.

Instead of promoting digital products, that channel is focused on fitness-related physical products.

I’m interested to see how that develops because it gives me another way to learn about content, traffic and monetization.

Different niche.

Different products.

Different audience.

But many of the same principles still apply.

Create useful content.

Get people to see it.

Track what happens.

Improve.

Repeat.

Today’s Scoreboard

Email subscribers: 25
Total earnings: $1,000+
Morning: Early walk in a very cold Sweden
Yesterday: First mentoring call with John Thornhill after signing the agreement
Current traffic strategy: Keep publishing and measure which sources actually deliver visitors
Major goal: Help bring a product to market within approximately 6–8 weeks
Today: Social media publishing + work on my fitness YouTube video

There’s a lot happening right now.

But perhaps the biggest change is that I’m beginning to feel like there’s more structure behind everything I’m doing.

Not simply publishing more.

Not simply trying more things.

But testing, measuring and gradually concentrating my effort on what actually produces results.

And now there’s a product launch target on the calendar too.

Eight weeks.

Time to get moving.
